Panda! Go Panda! is a 1972 animated short film directed by Isao Takahata with a concept and story by Hayao Miyazaki.
The story follows a cheerful young girl named Mimiko who lives alone in a house surrounded by bamboo groves because her grandmother is away on a trip. Returning from the train station after seeing her grandmother off, Mimiko discovers that a baby panda named Panny has wandered into her home. Soon after, Panny's large father, Papanda, arrives as well.
Mimiko cheerfully welcomes them in, dubbing Panny her son and Papanda her father, and the three form an unconventional and happy family. Daily life brings delightful challenges and whimsical escapades as Mimiko learns what it takes to care for her new cuddly companions. In their adventures, the trio also encounters a lost baby circus tiger that wanders into their home, leading them to help the little cub find its way back.
