Meet the Campaign: The CAPtain – the ultimate behind-the-scenes hero who stands with fans and creators, empowering them to buff up their inner hero without ever needing the spotlight. She simplifies the complex, removes friction, and unlocks access so every fan experience hits differently. With her invisible Access Field, she grants entry, priority access, and exclusive upgrades, guiding fans through activations, introducing side quests, and appearing across physical spaces, digital platforms, and even the comic storyline. Always equipped with her mysterious pocket-sized label maker (no one knows why), The CAPtain is on duty with one mission: to make magic happen. Catch her in action – “One second. I’m doing something amazing.” Coming to Comic Con Cape Town.
Meet Anand Ramcheron, the Durban-born artist who brought The CAPtain and her cyborg companion Tappa to life. An ever-evolving freelance illustrator from Durban, Anand has worked with global names like Sony Pictures Animation on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, created covers and trading cards for Marvel, illustrated for BOOM! Studios, co-published his own comic Infinity Runners, and worked with Golden Wolf. Drawing from this world-class experience, he crafted The CAPtain as a behind-the-scenes hero who empowers fans, alongside Tappa — the fast-moving “cyborg payment pup” who keeps things seamless for vendors, enabling instant tap-and-pay moments while staying close to the action (even if he occasionally gets distracted by his own reflection).
The Fandom Force HQ will be your ultimate interactive playground, hosting a range of exciting activations designed to keep you engaged from start to finish. Step onto a surfboard challenge, transform yourself into The Captain using an AR filter experience, jump into free-to-play gaming pods, test your strength on the punching bag machine, and discover plenty more surprises along the way.
Come through, get involved, and stand a chance to win awesome prizes while you’re at it.
