Kamanda R. Mutombo is a Congolese-born comic creator, character designer, illustrator, storyteller, and the creator of TREMA Comics. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, he combines traditional drawing, character design, and storytelling to build original worlds and characters through sequential art.
His debut graphic novel, TREMA: The Night Ordeal & The Sunrise's Choice, introduces readers to a mysterious universe shaped by imagination, fear, choice, and adventure. Through TREMA Comics, Kamanda continues to explore the power of visual storytelling and the ability of comics to connect people across cultures and generations.
As part of KidsCon, Kamanda brings the creative process directly to young audiences, guiding participants through character creation, world-building, and storytelling, and encouraging them to turn their own ideas into comics.
The workshop will take participants through four creative stages across the four days: Character Creation, World-Building, Storytelling, and Heroes & Villains.
