Fans eagerly flocked to Comic Con Cape Town 2024, immersing themselves in a geek-fueled universe. They packed the Main Stage to see American actor Sean Gunn, American voice actress Veronica Taylor, and Cape Town-born, American-based actress Lesley-Ann Brandt chat with their roaring Capetonian fanbase.Â
We also had 11 cast members of the One-piece live adaptation Netflix series.Â
The Guest Spotlight Sessions at the con offered the exciting opportunity for guests to interact with their favourite actors, streamers, illustrators and cosplayers through a question-and-answer format.Â
Competing to represent Cape Town at Comic Con Africa in Johannesburg, the Comic Con Cape Town Regional Championships of Cosplay houses four categories – The Regional Champion (overall winner), Masters Champion, Champion of Needlework, and Champion of Armour.Â
The Daily Cosplay Competition saw an array of amateur and professional cosplayers go head-to-head to showcase their skills and win prizes across all four days.Â
Guests, professional cosplayers, and enthusiasts showed up and showed off with their costumes, dressing up as their favourite fictional, Marvel, DC Comics, Anime, TV, video game or movie characters..
The gaming competitive spirit was high! The Toyota Gaming Engine fueled thrilling competitions, while fans dominated the beats at the first ever Beat Saber VR League, presented by Doritos. RGB Gaming kept the young fans entertained and Telkom VS Gaming showcased electrifying battles. The VS Gaming eDiski Finals also crowned champions in a display of exceptional gaming skills.
