Her practice is deeply informed by her life as an athlete; she translates the "flow states" of open-water swimming, climbing, and pole dancing into sophisticated visual compositions. This unique background allows her to bridge the gap between the "Architect" and the "Expressionist" - mapping the raw, kinetic sensations of the human body onto disciplined frameworks of anatomy and spatial design.

As a singer, Martinson further expands her exploration into the emotional architecture of sound, layering the visceral impact of voice onto her visual and physical work.
