Casual Cosplay Judge
Mark Palmer is an international stand-up comedian and professional Star Wars cosplayer, combining performance experience with a deep passion for fandom. Originally from Cape Town and now based in the UK, Mark has performed comedy around the world, appearing on Comedy Central and at renowned venues including the Comedy Store (LA) and the Comedy Cellar (NYC). He has shared stages with many of the biggest names in comedy and continues to perform globally.
At Comic Con Cape Town 2026, Mark will be appearing in his screen-accurate Star Wars cosplay, featuring Chewbacca—a long-time fan favourite—and Darth Maul. His costumes are built to film-level detail and are well known within the cosplay community.
Mark will also serve as a judge for the Casual Cosplay Competition, bringing both performance insight and cosplay knowledge to the panel. His appearance supports the Children’s Hospital Trust in aid of the Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
