DESIGNER & COMIC BOOK ARTIST

Bernard Chang is an Asian-American comic book artist and designer, best known for his work in the comic book and entertainment design industries. He is currently the artist and co-creator of MONKEY PRINCE (DC Comics) which introduces DC’s newest superhero based on the legendary Monkey King and the Journey to the West mythology; and is a former Walt Disney Imagineer, designing rides and attractions as a blue sky concept designer.

At he age of 20, Bernard broke into the comic book industry, and under the tutelage of the legendary Bob Layton at Valiant Comics, he was voted onto the WIZARD:THE GUIDE TO COMICS Top Ten Artists list, as well as being nominated for the Russ Manning Award for best newcomer in his rookie year. Since, he has drawn books such as WONDER WOMAN, SUPERGIRL, SUPERMAN, GREEN LANTERN CORPS, BATMAN BEYOND, TEEN TITANS, and XMEN. 

He also has a long-running collaboration with author, Neil Strauss, providing illustrations for almost all of his New York Times Bestselling books, including THE GAME, EMERGENCY, EVERYBODY LOVES YOU WHEN YOU’RE DEAD, and THE TRUTH.

Bernard received his bachelors degree in architecture from Pratt Institute, where he attended on a full scholarship, and was the captain of the men’s basketball team.  Former Assistant Coach of the Miami Heat, Tony Fiorentino, projected Bernard as a late third round pick in the 1995 NBA draft, before his career in art took off.
