A Star Wars fan from birth, Matt has always shown a deep admiration for the striking and impressive nature of the kyber-powered blade of energy.
He has always been a passionate fan of saber duelling and finds great joy in examining and practicing the works of talented stuntmen like Ray Park - Darth Maul, as well as the legendary choreography of Nick Gillard - prequel fight and stunt co-ordinator.
What started out as a childhood hobby of painting wooden dowel sticks blue, green and red, with insulation taped grips, has culminated in the creation of South Africa’s first and only “for the fans, by the fans” premium lightsaber and training supplier: Ilum Relix.
