Mandla Dube, Director, Cinematographer, Writer- Storyteller. Mr Dube has had a unique journey. Following completion of studies at Clark Atlanta, he began as a videographer for the legendary MCs of the 90s (2Pac, Outkast, Notorious BIG). In furthering his studies at the American Film Institute, he dedicated himself to capturing courageous heroes with an African background and brought that promise to fruition in his debut feature, Kalushi: The Solomon Mahlangu Story (2016) and following with works like Silverton Siege (2022) and most recently, Heart of the Hunter (2024). The paradigm has shifted in his career as a filmmaker. Now, Mandla and his production house, Pambili Media, takes a step into the world of the legends of antiquity with the appropriately bold retelling of the legend of Yasuke in Yasuke: The Way of the Butterfly.
