COSPLAY JUDGE
My name is Jonathan De Klerk, and I am the creative design lecturer at STADIO School of Fashion. This role allows me to merge my passions for theoretical understanding, academic research, and creativity. My fascination has always centred on the intricacies of how clothing is made—how designers transform fabric into wearable art and how ideas are translated into creativity. This cognitive approach to creating something aesthetically pleasing is, to me, the essence of how fashion design should be taught. My expertise spans across creative design, where I emphasize thinking about design innovatively, pattern design, which involves creating two-dimensional blueprints, and garment construction, the process of turning these blueprints into three-dimensional outcomes. On a lighter note, once a month, I enjoy dancing in the full moonlight while my cat watches me, a quirky ritual that, though reminiscent of the proverbial witches of Salem, is purely my own.
