David is a writer and creative producer with a deep love for genre films. Since diving into filmmaking in 2009, he's worked on local and international TV commercials, gaining early experience in South Africa's film industry.

Inspired by legends like Kubrick, Spielberg, and Scorsese, David crafts character-driven stories that entertain and provoke thought. His first commercial earned him a Loerie and a trip to the Cannes Lions, kickstarting his career as a director. In 2018, he won Gold for Brand SA's Young Creative and was named in Mail & Guardian's 200 Young South Africans.

David shifted to feature films in 2021, co-producing Robin Goode's Rust Road. He co-wrote and produced several short proof of concepts, with My Beskermer (My Protector) currently gearing up for production in 2025.

His debut feature as lead producer, Street Trash, directed by Ryan Kruger, is set for release in 2024/25. A 2023 SAFTA winner for Emerging Filmmaker, David attended the prestigious ZFF Academy Producers Lab in Zurich. Passionate and forward-thinking, David believes creators should inform, entertain, and spark positive societal change.
